Keep your stakeholders in the loop, in their inbox
Mailchimp is great for designing and sending broadcast emails to your mailing list.
But Mailchimp doesn’t have cc or bcc setting. This makes it hard for certain people to receive a copy of every outbound email – regardless of any segments or audience filtering.
Chimp CC is the missing cc / bcc option for your Mailchimp campaigns.
With Chimp CC your stakeholders receive a copy of all your Mailchimp campaigns directly in their inbox.
Why email people who aren’t on your mailing list?
This is not about sending emails to people who don’t want them. You must only be emailing people when you have an appropriate legal basis to do so.
Many teams want to ensure key stakeholders have an awareness of the emails being sent out.
These stakeholders include directors, marketing managers, clients, PR contacts, customer support teams etc – anyone who would benefit from keeping any eye on all the campaigns going out.
People are busy. They’re not going to log into Mailchimp each day and review the campaign reports. Nor do you want the hassle of setting up and managing appropriate access to your Mailchimp account.
It’s much more valuable and effective to send copies directly to their inboxes.
Can’t we just add these people to our audience?
Adding additional stakeholders to your audience would only work if you sent every campaign to your entire list.
Successful marketing requires segmenting (or filtering) your audience to send people the most relevant messages.
For example, a membership organisation is emailing their list to promote their upcoming conference. They may send three different email campaigns to different segments of their audience:
- Current members – reinforcing the value of membership by promoting the member-only pricing and benefits.
- Former members – a reminder of what they’re missing and an offer to entice them rejoin.
- People who’ve never been a member – a special bundle offer of a conference ticket and membership.
Email addresses cannot be part of all segments without fiddly manual work.
Such manual work is unreliable, and easily missed by a busy marketer working to tight deadlines.
Chimp CC – our Mailchimp cc product – ensures your stakeholders receive their copies of your campaign emails automatically.
How does Chimp CC work?
Chimp CC is our packaged automation. It uses Zapier to send a copy of your Mailchimp campaigns to specific email addresses.
- You send your Mailchimp campaigns as normal.
- Zapier listens to when a new campaign is sent in your Mailchimp account.
- A code step in Zapier is used to extract the campaign information from the Mailchimp data and handle all the tricky variations.
- Zapier sends a copy of campaign to the specified recipients.

A paid Zapier account is also required.
We can provide this if you prefer.
Why should I buy Chimp CC?
Tall Projects is an official Mailchimp Partner.
We’ve already unpacked and solved all the challenges associated with the integration.
Chimp CC supports:
- Multivariate campaigns
- HTML campaigns
- Plain text campaigns
- Merge tags (including RSS)
- Custom ‘from name’ in on the cc emails
- Optional subject prefix on the cc emails
Purchasing Chimp CC is the easy route that works.
Do I need my own Zapier account?
No. But we can use your Zapier account if you already have one.
Chimp CC uses Zapier to listen for Mailchimp campaigns being sent and then send a copy to the extra recipients.
We need a code step in Zapier to handle all the tricky parts such as multivariate campaigns, HTML vs plain text emails and certain merge tags.
A paid Zapier account is required to support the ‘multistep’ zap.
We can set up Chimp CC in Tall Projects’ Zapier account, or your own account. There is an additional annual fee to use our account but this cheaper than subscribing to Zapier yourself.
How many extra cc recipients can I have?
Zapier’s send email action supports up to 5 email addresses.
We recommend using a group address e.g. mailchimp-cc-sends@example.com for the Zapier configuration. Group addresses are easy to set up in email tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
Using a group address simplifies managing your recipients and avoids the Zapier limit.
This only relates to the extra cc addresses you want to use. Your audience(s) in Mailchimp can have any number of recipients.
What information to I need to provide?
We will need the following to set up the automation for you:
- Access to your Mailchimp account. Tall Projects is an official Mailchimp partner.
- Access to your Zapier account (if applicable)
- Email address(es) of your extra recipient(s)
- (Optional) The from name, reply-to address and any subject prefix to use on the campaign copy emails.
It’s easy. We’ll provide a short, secure and easy to use form to capture all the necessary details immediately after your purchase.
Is support available?
Yes. All Chimp CC products include period of support.
Inclusive support is limited to answering queries about the integration and the associated Zapier configuration.
Support outside this window or for other automations is available for additional fees. Please enquire for details.
